27.7.08

Its been a long hiatus.
Decided I should recollect whats been filling in my time for the 2months.

It was possibly the busiest months I've had in the year.
Dont even remember being that geared up prior the exams.

After the end of exams on the 1st week of June.
I took on the job of invigilator for the ACCA exams the very next day.

Followed by a weekend getaway to Malacca with the hommies.
20 of us in 2 mini vans.
This is prob the 1st major family trip.
We walked so MUCH.
No public transport on the entire trip.
We walked to and fro the malls and the JONKER WALK.
Had chicken rice balls salty chendol and the very tasty spicy prawn mee from malacca's newton.
Also 'le le chuan' plus manymany roadside food from jonker.
The fruit juice there was so cheap and good that we drank it like plain water.
Simply a food haven.

Presenting to you...MISS MAGGIE-MARKET!!! HAHA.

We're the apples in jojo's eye!

It not hard to see why they're bro & sis.

Our 1st makan pit stop. Along JB i think.

Table 2

Table 3

Finally got to our hotel after 4 hours of bus ride.
We had 2 big suites for the entire group of us!
Its like living in a 3 room flat.
Way cool.

Us, the pseudo backpackers!

Jo the grouchy tourist

my roomies!

The tourists acts begin.
This is one of the few 'scenic spots' there are.

Our 'tour guide' asked if we wanted to go to their museums.
All of us opted to pass those.
Cos we wanted to save $ & time to SHOP and EAT.

Just a snap to show we've been there.

This is the Ship Museum

Malacca's Flyer.
That tower. Its very slow motion Top Gun made of glass.
It slowly swirls up for scenery viewing.
One of the 'attraction spots'.

Our Lunch: Famosa Chicken rice ball.

Check out the famous ppl who've patronised! (refer to pic behind)
HAHA.

The balls.
We ordered 30 for each table.
But its not nice =(
The cheaper and more authentic stall was closed.

But the nice decor of the restaurant made up for the disappointing balls.
Enough reasons for us to camwhore.

the girls and their mommy.same height! haha.

wai gong trying to be the rickshaw rider

the dowager and her 'gong gong' + many palace maids

emperor and empress

Desserts after lunch.
We had CHENDOL and ROJAK at an attap hut.
The chendol got no QC.
Its as if 10 diff ppl prepared the chendol.
Some tasted SALTY some MILKY some SWEET and some TASTELESS.

The shopping starts at Jonker Walk.

Food AGAIN.
Ribena posicles! Shiok for the hot weather.

we heart sunnies!

My god aunt and her friend.
On the super colourful trishaw.
Damn piang!

Jonker walk is a looong stretch of pasar malam.
Which took us 2 nights to cover.
Able to get some gd buys, mainly lil stuff like accessories.
Esp loved their shades.
All of us bought at least a pair each!

Day 2:

Macs brekkie.
Cos newton was not opened and the hotel breakfast sucks!

3rd day:
Breakfast at the hotel
jordi: the food is so yuck!

jordi boy =)

and this, to sum up how i felt abt the trip.
how apt =)

Good food, good shopping alongside the company of my favourite people.
I'm not asking for more really.
I would love to go back for another of such session anytime!

After recharging from the trip I went for rounds of interviews with the GE groups.
Am still undecided about which to go to till today.
Independent or tied firms?
And which company then?
I'm just gonna get the license first and shall see from there.
*Shudders*

Did teaching at a c*ral pri sch for a week.
It was a psle science preparatory programme.
Fun stressed tired at the same time.
Cos there were like beforehand preparations i have to do.
Gotta do CONCEPT minds for the various topics. -_-
There was a lot of syllabus to cover within a short span of time.
I felt so zapped of my energy after just 2 hours session with the kids.

Doesnt help that theres this SENIOR WOMAN who sits in to exert additional stress on me.
She was supposedly there to 'guide' me.
But argh!
Can you imagine some conspicuous figure at the back of the class?
Who kept throwing disapproving looks and shaking her head whilst you're teaching.
Seriously #$*$!##@!$#@
More like she was there to show how GOOD she was.
Which i beg to differ.
I totally felt like screaming at her.

The kids were deprived of doing their experiments as a result of her wanting to spend time going thru nitty gritty details like spelling C-O-B-A-L-T?
Absolutely ridiculous.
I mean hello?
These are p6 students.
Thank god the kids eventually got to make their own ice cream on the 3rd day when she wasnt there.

Now i know how to make ice cream without a FREEZER.
Its so simple and fun!
I didnt dare sample my product thou!
But the kids loved their ice cream.
Some said it tasted better than Haagen Daz.

My smart alec student attempted to make the ice cream after i told him about it.
And being the smart alec he is.
He even added MILO powder(not in the recipe) cos he thought he could have an alternative flavour for his ice cream.
He then put the mixture into the freezer!
I already told him clearly it was ice cream making WITHOUT the freezer.
And of course, he failed.
Ended up with a popsicle instead!
Kwakwakwa.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Admidst busy tuition schedules and the many interviews.
I had my excitement at night to balance up my otherwise dull 'work life'.
Got hooked to the euro cups with cheryl yy and mel.
On weds we'll zouk first then drive over for the match.

yy is clearly not a mambo fan!

triggered happy! because i'm was in flip flops!

they shun from my mambo moves! HAHA.

Routine:
Chop seats at 12am and munch on for 2hrs before the match starts.

The macs i had in that 2 weeks was more than i ever had in the past year.
Buddy meals then macs brekkie at half time!
That was how hardcore.
By the time we hit the sack it'd been abt 6am.
Our bio clocks totally screwed.

placing bets with my b**kie

spaced out during half time

melody who kena DUO-MING. she look like PAC MAN right? HAHA.

ding dong bells! our theme was "black framed specs"

Because of those crazy routine.
We started to 'kee siao' at the odd hours.
So on days where there no matches.
We'll ktv at 1am, impromptu meetups at 12am, catch 2am shows.
In between waiting we'll sit at hk cafes to stall for time.
EATEATEAT.
We supper/early brekkie so much.
Damn unhealthy!
We'll go 126 for tim sum at 4am and hit home to sleep.

Cheryl: I could almost feel my fats coagulating!

we went dempsey for b&J's.
with my juniors who are all so grown.

leesokkhum =)))

i needed to flash my pearlies! HAHA.

Crazy ktv at 1am.

high tea and shopping with cherylanne lee!!!!!
one of the few times we saw each other in DAYlight!

not-so-sexay pout

All in all i had so much fun hanging with this bunch of crazy 1.5girl/boy.
Laughed and talk nonsense and scream and shout nonstop.
Albeit all that drama with the DUO MING callers and 'tou kak pai' ppl.
SO much intensive actions for 3 weeks before cheryl flew back.
I thought i suffered from euro withdrawal symptoms thereafter.
Went cold turkey. -_-

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slotted in an afternoon for this crazy stunt too.
Looks very much like purple rafia strings!

HAHA.
I'm still in bewilderment why i even agreed to it.
The fondness for the colour has grown on me now tho'.

Here comes one of the highlights!
Quotes Ann, "congrats pam! now you can shake off the title of bimbo!"
Yes i'm a qualified class 3 MANUAL driver!!! *skips around*
I'm still pretty much overwhelmed that i made it!
HAHAHA.
I was seriously expecting to fail for the 2nd time.
The tp was so fierce.
I tried to smile and apologized when i made mistakes.
But he gave me a pissed look and said "dont apologize to me".

Day before the test,

Instructor: "Most of my students pass on the 1st/2nd attempt.
So how? are you gonna break the record?"

I was so mad that i jam braked at the traffic junction!
He kept very quiet thereafter.
But he's a nice instructor lah.
He deserves some credits. =)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Met up for much tlc with the people who keep me sane and going.
I saw shaina yu, sying, ann, jiaen, ong cc, dr li, vases, my g2 girls! :)
Just about all whom i've not been seeing in a while.
It rocks that everyone's in this transiting period so we could easily arrange for spontaneous meet ups!

English tea and cakes with my WAN TYANG @ canelé =)
Stepping into our taitai lifestyle.

Shopping at toys'r'us for zisheng's nephew.
And that Dr Li kept saying that this looks like me!!!
It IS CUTE what! <--- read UGLY BUT ADORABLE

If thats me, then this must be HIM! (Quite nightmarish for kids actually)

While shopping for that PERFECT toy.
I see how couples can get into fights over trivial matters.

I felt that educational toys like those doodling ones or lego or maybe even those MR & MRS potatoes would be appropriate.
To stimulate the kids mind whilst playing.
But he kept looking at CARS and whatever GUNS or BUBBLES?!??!?
In the end we gave up.
Cos we couldnt agree on anything decent.
HAHA.

Checked out the new resturant in the vicinity.
Badoque.
Not that fantastic the food.

Where the vases sat.

What's dong doing?!?

the hair looks really short here!

Temptation island desserts.
Mango madness!

molly and momo

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For now i'm busy with work.
Doing telemarketing with an independent FA firm.
Its totally YUCK.
Calling 200ppl a day and getting shitty attitudes from the receivers.
Some were just a plain waste of your time cos after accepting to do the survey they hang up!
AHHH.

I really feel like hurling vulgarities on many ocassions.
But our conversations are all recorded!
My reservations thus.
I'm gonna tahan for another week and QUIT therafter.
Otherwise my pay would be forfeited.
How brilliant.

I know I've always hated such jobs.
I tried at yellow pgs before and toally wanted to leave after an hr into it.
But i thought i'll give this a go for the sake of $ and filling time.
Since its only for 4hrs.
4 fecking hrs may i repeat.
Friends if you do pick up a survey call, pls be kind!

Wednesdays are speech & drama days!
read HAPPY!
Those p2 kids are so adorable.
And teaching this course is so much free-er and fun!
We do origami, story sharing and show and tell sessions.
I like!
At least there's something for me to look forward to.
My midweek highlight! =)

That pretty much sums up.
I'm starting to think i'm superwoman.
I actually did soso ALOT.
I haven had a breather eversince the day exams ended.

All that packed activities are starting to take a toil on me.
I guess I should go on a break.

I wanna go for a spa retreat!
Or just a short get away to some nearby island.
I need...

...a fresh breath of perspectives.
