We celebrated my grandpa's birthday on the sat before mid autumn.
Time for good food again.
Stuffed myself silly like always.
You know how you can't stop eating or pinching on abit of food each time you walk past the serving table.
Cos the food keeps getting refilled and you just feel like you need to help and eat abit.
OK maybe its just me who thinks that way.
We bought fire sparklers and manymany lanterns.
Turned out that the older and younger of the kids were interested in 'playing' but the teenagers couldnt be bothered.
Like they're in the evolving phase.
I'm too cool to be playing lanterns with the kids kinda thing.
Yeah we've all been though that.
Anyhow jo and I brought the kids to the central arena at the void deck for their share of fun.
As I was stoning and getting amused at how the kids got so excited over the fire sparklers.
It suddenly dawned on me that fire sparklers are really kinda a waste of money.
They're just some foul smelling air polluting sticks that looked pretty while they last.
I esp hate those with the irritating screeching/whistling sound effect.
And its kinda lame to light one and draw circles in the air with it.
So pointless.
Oh well but the kids still love it.
I remembered eliza taught us how to make the fireworks fountain during sec sch days.
Its really beautiful and very WOAH.
I actually tried it at home and showed my cousins at one of our parties.
I was so shocked cos the fire got pretty big.
And i quickly extinguished it with a pail of water.
And the amount of smoke was CRAZY.
It alomost triggered the fire alarm.
like OMG.
On zhong qiu jie itself.
I joined my lil cousins at the arena to play with lanterns and fire sparklers again.
There were so many kids with their parents.
Its really heartwarming to see that traditional festive occasions like this is not forgotten.
And that these busy working parents still bother to bring their kids there to enjoy the festive mood with everyone else.
It was refreshing to see the area lited with dim lights from the conventional lanterns and random fire sparklers brightening up the area.
How those children get thrilled over lighting up their 'deng longs'.
It must be like a new thrill for them to switch over from their game consoles to these play things.
Kids today really shouldnt be deprived of such good fun.

The cake shared by all us kids for wai gong.

the young ones with ah gong!

Whats zhong qiu jie without these 'zhu zais'! I bought them for my schoolies.

The very happening central arena where so many kids and parents lit their lanterns and fire sparklers.

I decorated the trees with these pretty things!

My cousin and our family's friend. can u guess whos p2 and whos p4?
